The Heartland Chapter of Alliance
of Divine Love announces that the 2019 Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Dinner
will be celebrated on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at The Peace Pavilion in Independence, MO. Heartland ADL is also pleased to announce
that The Peace Pavilion is also the recipient of the 2019 Vern Barnet Interfaith Service Award and the chosen charity for
donations at the dinner. The annual dinner
is co-sponsored by the Heartland Chapter of the Alliance of Divine Love
and the Greater Kansas City
Interfaith Council and is held in a
different location each year around the metropolitan area.
The goal of the Peace Pavilion (www.thepeacepavilion.org) is
“Building Peace by Creating Peacemakers” and it has long served as a focus for
multicultural and interfaith education and a beacon for placing children on the
path to peace. The first location of
the Peace Pavilion (formerly, the Children’s Peace Pavilion) was at the
Community of Christ Auditorium and that original space will be retained. In an
exciting venture, the Peace Pavilion (so renamed in recognition of a greater
mission) has acquired a much larger building and is embarking on a goal of new
and improved exhibits and experiences, which will bring the ideas of “Peace For
Me, Peace for Us, Peace for Everyone and Peace for the Planet to life with
hands-on learning which includes conflict resolution and global
understanding. By choosing the Peace
Pavilion as the chosen charity for the year, Heartland ADL will give the
Greater Kansas City community the opportunity to be a part of this venture.
