North Rock Creek/Korte Academy Reviews

I am a grandparent helping to raise my 5 year-old grandson. I volunteer tutoring K in letter sounds and recognition, reading and printing. Students are well known to administrators and other teachers by name. They are not just numbers. I've learned much from Mrs. Susan Crosby, his K teacher, due to her excellent skills, knowledge, methods and handling of these small children. Test scores for the school are on an upward spiral due to the efforts of all l at the school. Mr. Damon, the principal, is a very caring and good school administrator and is surrounded by excellent teachers and support staff. Learning in a safe environment remains a crucial objective. You are always greeted with a smile and helpfulness from the staff, especially Jan, the front office secretary. I hope to be able to transport my grandson for many more years to North Rock Creeek/Korte.

NRCK is continuing to do well, under solid direction from Mr. Damon the students continue to recieve care and concern and there are very few problems. Be involved and you will see success with your children here in this school. RK

This school has many caring employees at all levels, and it has those who are just going through the motions, just like most other urban schools. They have to deal with many student and home problems, which takes away from academic time. I have had three children attend Kindergarten at North Rock Creek/Korte Elementary, but their father and I moved them to private schools for the remainder of their elementary educations. The entire Kansas City Mo. School District has too many problems to risk staying involved. I really cannot recommend North Rock Creek/Korte to other parents.

The principal Mrs. Reece is a poor leader. She is not involved with the children. There are a lot of discipline problems and the code of conduct is not handled correctly. Often times the principals don't care to be bothered with discipline. I do not recommend this school. There is a lack of caring for the students. Money for each head appears to be common place.
