Turner High School Reviews

I go to/have gone to turner for a while and i can honestly say that it is the best school districts ever. The teachers care about the students, but are also not afraid to send them to the office etc if they deserve it. I love turner!! a lot of school now days have basically a no fun allowed to learn policy but turner slips fun in with learning, and encourages students to be the best that they can be... Also, theres not a lot of bullies or fights. If there is ever a fitht, it gets cleared within 30 seconds at the most!

Turner is a good district for students that want to succeed and parents that want to see their children succeed...as a graduate of the 08 year i will say that Turner has helped me a lot in lending steps to my future...some teachers are set in the past and are a little judgemental but the school is only going to be what students/parents make it...Turner needs to focus more on students than pressing these test scores on us...these assessments are over-rated...perfection is impossible...many students simply don't go to school because of all the testing...i could care less about band or sports...but the teachers treat students with the same respect that students give to them...I believe the biggest problem in any school is the parents...parents have loss control of their children...kids are raising themselves and its time for parents to step back in their roles as parents and raise these kids...

I am an alumni of Turner High School. I am very proud of the education and guidance I received at Turner, and as a community member I continue to see improvements in facilities, technology, teaching staff and communication within the district. Although every district has room for improvement, I feel like Turner takes those opportunities for improvement seriously. Now, I have a bachelors degree and a professional degree, and I am happy to call Turner home. If I ever have children, I will be glad to send them to Turner.

Turner High School need to improve on their teaching skills. The truth is that it seem as if the teachers do not care. The safety is another problem. This is not a safe place. I cannot wait to get my child out of there.

Turner High School is a wonderful school, and the only one that I would consider sending my children too. The teachers actually care about their students, and the class sizes are relatively small compared to other schools in the Kansas City Metro area. The athletic programs are amazing, and continuing to amaze me with every game. Turner has a wonderful music program, that as stated has been invited to play at the Orange Bowl in FL. How many schools do you know that can say that? There are many different programs that your children can get involved in, including tutoring at the middle school, and various others. As far as Bilingual, this school offers one of the best programs in the state, as far as I am concerned. The community is also extremely caring about this school, and the entire district. Parents are encouraged to get involved as much as possible.

There has been a lot of dilemmas here at Turner High School. Turner, has in the previous years failed to really drive the students in caring about their grades, and the Kansas Math Assessment. The 2005 school year turner however had a dramatic improvement in their math test scores. You could just see it in the new principal's eye that she would not take any less than your very best. The 2006 school year we hired new teachers! That goes to show you that Turner really is trying. The band, recently was asked to play in the Orange Bowl in Miami Florida. The music program is colossal. Turner has had its predicaments in the past, Turner is dramatically improving each year.

All you people that think turner is a bad school your wrong. Turner is the best school. I have ever been to and ive been to quite a few. Ya some of the students don't care but most of them do. All our teachers care about us and they want to see us succeed. I also know for a fact that almost all the students go to college because my sister and all of her class went to college. Our alhletics are awsome. We won State in wrestling in 2004 and runner up in 2005 and 6th in 2006. Our football team made it to the first round of the state playoffs last year and were going to even further this year. Now don't talk about a community that loves there school and not even know about it.

Turner High School Administration is working extremely hard to turn the school around. There have been issues with test scores in the past. The current administration is implementing new processes to improve student learning. The students at this school just don't care. If the students took a personal initiative on their learning - test scores would be higher. The emphasis from parents to push their students has been lost in the recent years. Turner has a good school district.

Not worth going, this school is going down hill, no one here will make it to college smart or not. The school is not smart. The teachers don't help at all, the district is going down hill.

Turner does not have a gang problem! The biggest problem as I saw it was that the faculty, besides a few good teachers, didnt seem to care whether the kids learned or not. A counselor didnt even schedule me in all the classes I needed to graduate my senior year!I had talked to them several times about my transcript but they didnt notice this fatal error until the first semester was almost over.

Recently here at Turner High School, the district has made several attempts to increase Math scores on assessments tests, only to harsh failure. The district has gone hill ever since they have started letting in kids that have been expelled from other school districts. I would not recommend sending your child to this school district. The level of gang activity increases with each school year.
